- "Chill."
- — Bobby's catchphrase
Roberto Gabriel "Bobby" Cañero-Reed is a character from the Disney+ original series Diary of a Future President.
Biography[]
Season One[]
Bobby is an eighth-grader who attends Orange Bay Middle School alongside his sixth-grade sister, Elena.[1] Having previously dated Monyca, he realizes that he is gay, and that he had feelings for his tennis teammate and friend, Liam, instead.[2]
Season Two[]
In Season 2, Bobby started High School and planed to confess his feelings to Liam. However, Liam started dating a girl named Jada, and Bobby forced himself to move on.[3] Bobby then developed feelings for a boy named CJ[4] after going to “Night League” with him.[5] Over the course of the season he gained more courage to come out to people and grew as a person. It should be noted that he does not appear to be ashamed of his sexuality, however this remains unconfirmed. He later went on a date with CJ and they started dating.[6]
Personality[]
Bobby is a very laid-back, often using "chill" frequently in his vocabulary. He is shown to have low regards towards the rules when he wants to impress someone, as seen when he hosted a party and when he snuck out despite being grounded for the aforementioned party.[4] However, he does care about his family a lot and even Sam. Bobby is gay and spends season one and season two figuring out his sexuality. He overthinks a lot, and frequently spends time in his bathroom in front of the mirror practicing what he will say to his crushes Liam and CJ.
